What's New?
The X2 gets a major redesign for the 2024 model year. The exterior of the compact crossover gets a full facelift, with sharper edges, more contours, and an overall design that evokes a luxury coupe. The front fascia has also been redesigned, with new headlights and an updated take on the classic BMW double-kidney grille. Thanks to a larger frame, the X2 now has more room inside the cabin. The infotainment system gains larger standard touchscreens. The engine also gets an update, and all-wheel drive is now standard.
Performance
The X2 has two trim levels: xDrive28i and M35i xDrive. Each trim gets a different engine. The xDrive28i has a turbocharged 2.0-liter I4 engine that produces 241 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The M35i xDrive has a more potent turbocharged 2.0-liter I4 engine that produces 312 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Both trims come standard with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
Interior and Exterior Design
The X2 gets a larger frame for the new model year. The new X2 is 7.6 inches longer, 0.8 inches wider, and 2.5 inches taller than last year's model. The larger dimensions equate to more legroom for passengers in the rear seat. The revamped exterior includes more contours up front and a significantly more sloped rear, giving the X2 a coupe-inspired appearance that can turn plenty of heads.
Inside the cabin, the X2 has plenty of features to make every drive comfortable and convenient. Veganza faux leather upholstery is standard. Standard dual-zone automatic climate control makes it easy to set the right temperature for everyone inside the vehicle. When you need to transport your belongings, you can find 25.3 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the rear seats and 51.7 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down.
Technology
Every new X2 comes standard with BMW's impressive Curved Dash front display. This huge screen incorporates both a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel and a 10.7-inch infotainment touchscreen. Wireless Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® come standard, making it easy to connect your smartphone to the infotainment system. Available tech upgrades include a wireless smartphone charging pad and a Wi-Fi hotspot. BMW's Driving Assistance Professional hands-free driving aid is also available for the X2, providing hands-free driving on certain highways.
Safety
Every X2 comes standard with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-departure warning. Adaptive cruise control is available.
